dustinlong Ryan Newman on Edward’s last-lap move: “He was wide open until he saw God and then he hit the brakes and bounced it off the wall.”
I saw this earlier today on twitter and it cracked me up. It’s only funny if you’re a NASCAR fan and watched Carl Edwards make a banzai move on the [...]

You brought lots of wind and rain to Arkansas, but you also brought us refreshingly cooler temperatures.
It’s been an absolutely gorgeous weekend in Fort Smith. Perfect for football, front porch sittin’ and thinkin’.
I threw open a few windows today (thanks, Arkansas Glass and Mirror for my new windows) and turned all the fans on high. [...]

NASCAR’s Nationwide tour just finished racing at Michigan.
Planters-sponsored Carl Edwards won the race. ABF U-Pack was second, with Brian Vickers behind the wheel. Batesville, Arkansas’s Mark Martin finished fourth, piloting Dale Jr/Hendrick Motorsports #5 Chevy.
That was a FUN race to watch!

Indianapolis Speedway ate tires, forcing competitors to stop every 10 laps under caution for at least right side tires. Even with green flag racing, drivers said they could only run 80% just to get 10 laps [...]

Mark Martin thought he was in the twilight of his career. He raced two partial seasons and came within a hair’s width of winning the Daytona 500; came within a teaspoon of fuel from winning at Phoenix this year.
He can still compete, and he still wants to win.
Next year, he’ll wheel the famed 5 Hendrick [...]

Four of my A-10 Warthog buddies from the Arkansas Air National Guard’s 188th Fighter Wing performed the flyover yesterday before the NASCAR race at Infineon in Sonoma, California.
Never mind that Kyle Busch won the race and Mark Martin skipped the event. My pals were on the TEEVEE!
